Turkey visa for an Indian ordinary passport
A visa is required. The conditional e-Visa is an application route rather than an exemption. The Ministry describes one month and a single entry, with qualifying supporting evidence and other applicable requirements.
Diplomatic, service and special passports have separate rules. This guide concerns ordinary passports: do not select an official category that does not match your document.
Preparing Indian passport details
Copy names, passport number and dates directly from the identity page. If there is no surname or name allocation is unclear, obtain the portal instructions before filling fields by guesswork.
If your passport changes before departure, have the authorisation’s usability checked. Retain an existing application’s references so that its status can be established before a second application.
Tourism, business or a connection
State the actual purpose. A short business visit must not conceal employment or study in Turkey. If you leave international transit or change Istanbul airports, assess entry conditions before purchasing the itinerary.
For airside transit, check the precise journey with the carrier and authorities. Having a connecting flight does not establish a general exemption.
A connection involving a change of airport
An arrival in Istanbul followed by departure from another airport may require entry into Turkey. Check airports, baggage collection and tickets. Airside transit must not automatically be treated as an exemption for a tourist visit.
Supporting documents and passport validity
Where required, check a valid visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen country, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland against the official portal’s exact conditions. French residence is not a separate blanket exemption. A foreign e-Visa must not be assumed equivalent to accepted supporting evidence.
